After many unsuccessful attempts since 2000, the Australian Football Club ?Aussie Rules? Zagreb was finally formed in November 2005.

It is interesting to note that the person who lead the push to form the club, President Kolja Koracak, has no connections with Australia and was introduced to this sport whilst studying in the United States!
Sporadic training sessions during 2005 drew only a few enthusiasts (mainly immigrants from Australia) but the forming of the Club has aided the promotion of this sport in Croatia so that the number of Croatian born players is constantly rising.

On June 10, 2006 the Club made it?s first official appearance at an international tournament in Vienna.
